Industrial Injuries Advisory Council
Details
At the request of the Department for Work and Pensions, the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) reviewed and amended the recommendation it made in May 2014 in Dupuytrens contracture due to hand-transmitted vibration to prescribe Dupuytrens contracture as a disease for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit. It was always the councils intention that the most disabling element of this condition is covered and this note clarifies the eligibility conditions.
IIAC received further feedback from key stakeholders on the prescription for Dupuytrens contracture having previously provided additional information on 22 May 2020 on the disabling element of the disease. This updated information note provides further clarification for stakeholders on the disabling elements of the disease which are required to make a claim. It is hoped this updated information note addresses these concerns.
