The UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) has become a partner of WIPO Green.

WIPO Green is an online platform run by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which supports global efforts to address climate change. The platform connects providers and seekers of environmentally friendly technologies to accelerate green innovation.

The UK IPO will join the WIPO Green advisory board and collaborate with partners to support green innovators.

Deputy Director of International Policy, Sarah Roberts-Favell, said:

Joining WIPO Green signals the UKs commitment to supporting green innovation. It is crucial we continue to work and innovate together to develop and deploy new green technologies.

In this spirit, the UK IPO is committed to bringing its expertise to the initiative. We cannot address the urgency of the climate crisis without co-ordinated global action. This platform speaks directly to this goal as well as supporting growth and economic development.

The partnership agreement was signed by Sarah Roberts-Favell and WIPOs Assistant Director General Edward Kwakwa during WIPOs 65th General Assemblies.
