Legal Aid Agency
The Legal Aid Agencys (LAA) annual report & accounts for 2015 to 2016 have been published, alongside the Director of Legal Aid Casework (DLAC) Report for the same period.
These are the third such reports for the agency since it came into being in April 2013. The Legal Aid Statistics bulletin was published on 30 June 2016.
The LAA and the DLAC role were created by the LASPO Act 2012 and the reports document the work carried out under these functions.
The LAAs accounts are again unqualified by the National Audit Office.
Following publication of his first Annual Report as LAA Chief Executive, Shaun McNally paid tribute to LAA staff, saying:
I cannot say it enough; thank you to you all for the hard work and dedication you put in every day, the sustained good work and high standards are clearly reflected in our third annual report.
I am very proud of the cross Agency collaboration which has gone into producing these unqualified financial statements and our unfailingly high levels of performance.
We now look to the future and how we are going to strive to maintain and improve our services further and build on what we have achieved this year.
