29 October 2015 Crime contracts tender update
The verification process for organisations successful in the Duty Crime Tender is taking place throughout this week. The LAA plans to enter into duty contracts in the week commencing 2 November.
Successful bidders
Organisations that were successful must contact the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) to confirm whether they intend to accept the contract offered in all procurement areas where they have been successful. This confirmation must be sent through the eTendering message board by 11.59pm on 20 October 2015.
We intend to enter into contracts in the week starting 26 October 2015.
Successful bidders can request a detailed breakdown of their tender assessment outcome through the eTendering message board.
Unsuccessful bidders
We recognise that organisations who have not been successful in this procurement process will be disappointed.
There is no right of appeal against LAAs decisions not to award a contract. However, bidders are reminded that contracts may yet be awarded to organisations that were notified on 15 October that their bid was unsuccessful. It is possible that this may happen where contracts are declined by successful bidders in the following circumstances:
- they fail to confirm their intention to accept the contract offer by the 20 October deadline
- they decline the contract work in all procurement areas in which they were successful
Contracts may also be awarded later in the processes where organisations are unable to complete the verification process.
Where we are able to award contracts to organisations in these circumstances, LAA will contact them as soon as possible through the eTendering message board.
Devon and Cornwall 1 and Hampshire 2 supplemental procurement
In Devon (Devon and Cornwall 1 procurement area) and the Isle of Wight (Hampshire 2 procurement area) the LAA received fewer bids than contracts available.
LAA will notify organisations of the outcome of the Devon and Cornwall 1 supplemental invitation to tender next week (week starting 19 October).
Next week LAA will also contact organisations who submitted an expression of interest to deliver additional work in the Isle of Wight.
