Peer Reviewer Panel opportunity

From Monday 14 October 2024 we are offering individuals the opportunity to apply to become Peer Reviewers for the Legal Aid Agency in the Crime, Family, Immigration, Housing and Mental Health categories of law.

This opportunity is limited to new applicants and those who already operate under a Peer Reviewer Contract do not need to re-apply through this process. The deadline for applications is 11.59am on Monday 4 November 2024.

What is the role of a Peer Reviewer?

Peer Reviewers independently assess random samples of provider case files using guidance developed in consultation with the Law Society, Law Centres and not for profit agencies. This work is important for our auditing and assurance processes and is a means of ensuring that clients have access to high quality legal advice.

How to apply

Interested applicants must submit copies of the following documents, all of which are available to download below:

  • Supervisor self-declaration form in the relevant category of law

  • Peer Reviewer Panel Application form

  • Equality and Diversity monitoring form

You will need to complete the relevant supervisor self-declaration forms for the categories of law in which you wish to be a Peer Reviewer:
