11 July 2024 Further tender for 2024 civil contract opens

The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) is inviting Tenders to deliver the publicly funded civil legal aid services from 1 September 2024 under the 2024 Standard Civil Contract for:

• 2024 Standard Civil Contracts (2024 Contract) in the Housing and Debt and Welfare Benefits Categories of Law; and
• 2024 Standard Civil Contract Schedules for Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS)

The Tender Deadline is 17:00 on 25 July 2024. Due to the urgent need for contracts to be in place to allow services to commence, the timescale from launch to the deadline for submission of tenders has been set at 14 days.

Late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.

Organisations that meet the Tender Requirements to hold a 2024 Contract and successfully Tender will be awarded a 2024 Contract.

There is no limit to the number of 2024 Contracts in the Housing and Debt and Welfare Benefits Categories of Law that may be awarded under this procurement process, however, the LAA will only award a single Schedule to deliver HLPAS in each of the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service Areas (HLPAS Areas). This additional procurement opportunity will be restricted to the following areas only:

• Barnstaple, Torquay & Newton Abbot
• Boston, Lincoln

Tenders must be submitted using the LAAs eTendering system and must be submitted by 17:00 on 25 July 2024.

Applicants may submit any questions they have via eTendering by 23:59 on 17 July 2024. Answers will be published in the week beginning on 19 July 2024.

A headline intentions document is now available from the documents section above. It sets out our approach for the further tender opportunity planned for the Standard Civil Contract 2024.

The LAA intends to award contract work under this process to commence on or around 1 September 2024 and the tender opportunity opens on 18 March 2024.

13 September 2023 Tender for 2024 civil contract opens

The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) is inviting Tenders to deliver the publicly funded civil legal aid services from 1 September 2024 under the 2024 Standard Civil Contract in the following Categories of Law:

• Family;
• Housing and Debt and Welfare Benefits;
• Immigration and Asylum (including work at Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs));
• Mental Health;
• Community Care;
• Claims Against Public Authorities;
• Clinical Negligence;
• Public Law;
• Family Mediation;
• Education; and
• Discrimination.

Alongside tenders for the above Categories of Law, applicants may also tender for Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS), commencing on 1 September 2024. HLPAS will be delivered in 106 HLPAS Areas across England and Wales.

Tenders must be submitted using the LAAs eTendering system and must be submitted by 17:00 on 17 October 2023.

Applicants may submit any questions they have via eTendering by 11.59pm on 26 September 2023. Answers will be published in the week beginning 2 October 2023.
