  1. The MAIB has issued an interim report for the accident involving the fishing vessel Sustain (UL 45) which took place on 16 November 2023. A link to the interim report PDF has been added to the 'Current Investigations table'.

  2. MAIB has issued interim reports for the following investigations; Honeybourne III, Spirit of Discovery and Verity/Polesie. The 'Current Investigations' table has been updated today with links to these three documents.

  3. The MAIB has updated its current investigations table with links to two new interim reports which have been published today for the investigations involving vessels Karin and Lexi Rose.

  4. Our current investigations table has been updated to list our latest deployment to the founding of the UK registered sailing vessel Bayesian 0.5 nautical miles south east of the entrance to Porticello harbour on the northern coast of Sicily on 19 August 2024.

  5. Our current investigations table has been updated to list our two latest deployments. The foundering of the Saint Helena registered vessel Argos Georgia in heavy seas approximately 200nm east of Port Stanley, Falkland Islands on 23 July 2024. A preliminary assessment also started last week into the grounding of the UK registered dive support vessel Jean Elaine in Deer Sound, Orkney on 22 July 2024.

  6. The Mazarine case has been removed from investigations led by other countries section following publication of Transport Malta's report.

  7. Our current investigations table has been updated this afternoon to include the details of two MAIB deployments for fatal accidents involving vessels Kingfisher and Laureline.

  8. Our current investigations table has been updated to list our latest deployment to the fatal man overboard from the UK registered 11.16m fishing vessel Weston Bay (GY123), approximately 11nm east of Spurn Head, Humber Estuary, England on 22 May 2024.

  9. The investigation Ever Grade (9820855) has been removed from our current investigation table as the lead investigating state (Panama) have now uploaded the final investigation report to GISIS.

  10. Our current investigations table has been updated to list a preliminary assessment into the collision between Apache (9749489) and Serinah (GH116) resulting in the sinking of Serinah approximately 6nm southwest of Ardrossan in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland on 25 April 2024.

  11. We have updated the entry for Viking Sky in the 'Investigations into accidents involving UK registered vessels and/or UK citizens that, by agreement, are being led by other administrations', to reflect the publication of the accident report by the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority (NSIA). The table entry now contains a link to the NSIA webpage for the published report PDF and a short video summarising the accident and findings.

  12. Our current investigations table has been updated to list our latest deployment, to the foundering of UK registered stern trawler Opportune (LK209) in the North Sea, approximately 36 miles east of Lerwick in Shetland on 24 March 2024. The crew were rescued from the vessels liferaft uninjured.

  13. A link to an interim report for the Calypso 2 case has been added to our current investigations table.

  14. A new investigation has been added to the current investigations table following the fatality on board the yacht Baton Rouge while alongside at Falmouth Harbour, Antigua on 23 February 2024.

  15. The MAIB has updated its current investigations table with links to two new interim reports which have been published today for the investigations involving vessels Stena Europe and, Biter and Hebridean Princess.

  16. A new investigation has been added to the table following the flooding and sinking of fishing vessel Freedom II (CN111) off Oban, Scotland on 21 February.

  17. The Eder Sands case has been removed from the current investigations table following publication of the report and safety flyer. A link to a safety bulletin for the Honeybourne III case has been added.
