Marine Accident Investigation Branch
Responsibilities will include:

extracting, cleansing, and transforming data using business intelligence tools and, presenting the data to internal stakeholders such as Inspectors and external stakeholders such as researchers, journalists, members of the public or other government departments

using business intelligence tools to carry out analysis of data, with the aim of identifying trends or insights and conveying these in the most appropriate way(s) to the end-user(s)

bringing awareness to potential areas of key safety interest that have been identified through analysis and supporting any working groups that are formed to address safety issues

maintaining and developing a suite of reports and dashboards built using Power BI and, where necessary creating new reports and dashboards to meet your objectives as Data Analyst

networking with data users from other government departments and external sources to build strong working relationships and maximise the Branchs ability to collect and use data to improve the safety of life at sea

supporting the continuous operation and development of the Branchs Dynamics 365 case management system, providing support to colleagues on best practice use of Dynamics 365 and ensuring that the branch is compliant with data governance frameworks
