On 11th November the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) launched the latest Marine Plan Monitoring Survey for all marine plan areas in England, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to feedback on marine plans. Please respond before Monday 27th January 2025.

We are interested in:

  • how the marine plans are being used to inform development of terrestrial local plans

  • how they are being applied in development management

  • how they are being used in developing or submitting a marine licence proposal

  • any policy effects or changes to the marine environment

Your feedback is important to us, we appreciate every response to the surveys.

The monitoring survey is your opportunity to tell us how marine plans are being considered in the application process, in the formation of local plans and development, or any other decision-making processes.

Marine plan policies cover a varied rage of activities that support the sustainable development of our marine environment, from aquaculture to aggregates, renewables to seascape, and ports and shipping to tourism and recreation.

Information on marine plan policy can be viewed spatially on our Explore Marine Plans interactive digital tool.

We know your time is valuable and would welcome your experience of using marine plans in your work by completing the Marine Plan Monitoring Survey here.

Please respond before Monday 27 January 2025.

Each survey should take less than one hour to complete. The survey does not have to be completed it in a single session, you can leave and return to it later (provided you use the same device, and you do not delete your browser history).

Your activity may occur in an area which borders a neighbouring marine plan area, in which case we would greatly appreciate your responses to the surveys for both areas.

Please complete your survey in full before submitting, as we are unable to accept partially completed surveys.

Please see our Privacy Notice for information about how your data will be handled. All responses will be anonymised, confidential and aggregated for reporting.
