About the Career Transition Partnership

The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is a specialist resettlement programme designed to help people leaving the armed forces find civilian employment. The support on offer usually depends on how long youve served.

Attending one of their workshops is the best way to start your CTP journey.

As well as workshops, they offer free events, training courses and a searchable online jobs portal.

For any questions, you can contact the Career Transition Partnership.

If youve served for over 6 years

Youre entitled to access the Core Resettlement Programme (CRP).

You can use the CRP from 2 years prior to your discharge. You will be entitled to up to 35 days graduated resettlement time (GRT) to conduct resettlement activities prior to your discharge. The number of days depends on your length of service. If youre over 50 years of age and have served for more than 30 years, youre entitled to begin your resettlement earlier.

If youve served for 4 to 6 years

Youre entitled to access the Employment Support Programme (ESP).

The ESP is available to personnel who have served for between 4 and 6 years.

You can access the ESP from 2 years prior to your discharge and for up to 2 years post-discharge.

If youve served for less than 4 years

Youre entitled to access CTP Future Horizons, which is open to early service leavers across all services.

CTP Future Horizons is available to personnel who discharge before completing 4 years of service.

Support from the CTP Future Horizons is then available for 2 years after your discharge.

If youve been medically discharged

If youve been medically discharged and have been deemed to face significant barriers to employment, CTP Assist is available to support personnel on recovery duties (PRD) and other service leavers who face significant additional challenges with the transition to a civilian career.

Access is provided regardless of time served.

CTP Assist is available as a flexible entitlement with a longer access timeline if required, depending on the nature of your medical condition and recovery pathway.
