The Facilitation Fund is part of Countryside Stewardship (CS). It supports individuals who act as facilitators to bring together groups of farmers, foresters and other land managers to improve environmental outcomes in their local area.

A panel of Natural England, Forestry Commission and Environment Agency advisers assessed the applications for their:

  • proposed environmental priorities (based on CS funding statement of priorities)
  • value for money of the training
  • group aims and how they will work together

The map shows England segmented into Natural England offices and area teams. The locations of the successful Facilitation Fund projects in 2024 are marked and labelled.

There is 1 project in Cumbria Cocker Farmer Group.

There is 1 project in the East Midlands White Peak Farmers and Associates.

There are 4 projects in the West Midlands Ape Dale Farmers Group, The Calmsden Cluster, Aqualate Mere Catchment Group and Upper Teme Farm Cluster Group.

There is 1 project in West Anglia East Cambridge Farmers.

There are 2 projects in Norfolk and Suffolk Northern Broads Cluster Group and Waveney-Hundred Farming Group.

There are 4 projects in Thames Solent New Forest Southern Farm Cluster, Ray Farmer Cluster, The Clumps Farmer Cluster and Cherwell Farmers Cluster.

There are 2 projects in Wessex Farmers of the Upper Frome, Hooke and Wraxhall, and Purbeck Farmer Group.

There is 1 project in Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Teign Valley Facilitation Fund.

There are 2 projects in Sussex and Kent North East Kent Cluster and East Stour Farm Cluster.

Successful projects are divided into 3 categories:

  • successful projects started in 2024

  • projects that were funded before 2024 and still receiving funding

  • projects that were funded before 2024 and are no longer receiving funding

Of the successful projects started in 2024, there are groups in the:

  • North West

  • West Midlands

  • East of England

  • South West

  • South East

For successful projects still receiving funding, and successful projects no longer receiving funding, there are groups in the:

  • North West

  • North East

  • Yorkshire and Humber

  • West Midlands

  • East Midlands
