This map shows the stretches that are open to the public and those where work is still in progress.

  1. Map updated to show the Sutton Bridge to Skegness stretch is now open to the public.

  2. Map has been updated to show that 2 sections of the Birkenhead to the Welsh border stretch are now open to the public.

  3. Map updated to show that the Minehead to Coombe Martin and Kingswear to Lyme Regis stretches are now open to the public.

  4. Map updated to show the Mersea Island and South Hayling to East Head stretches are now at stage 5 (whole stretch approved, establishment works commencing).

  5. Map updated to show that the Aust to Brean Down and Felixstowe Ferry to Bawdsey stretches are both fully approved and are now at stage 5 (approved but not yet available for public use).

  6. Map updated to show the Hunstanton to Sutton Bridge stretch is now open to the public, and Cremyll to Kingswear, Portsmouth to South Hayling and Wallasea Island to Burnham-on-Crouch stretches are now at Stage 5: Open (not yet available for public use - work to establish the route is currently taking place).

  7. Map updated to show that part of the Shotley Gate to Felixstowe Ferry is now (partially) open to the public.

  8. Map updated to show that the remaining sections of Combe Martin to Marsland Mouth have been approved. This stretch is now at stage 5. A further 2 lengths of the Cremyll to Kingswear stretch have been approved and 2 sections of the Gretna to Allonby stretch are now open to the public. The final length of Birkenhead to the Welsh border is approved nd this stretch is now at stage 5.

  9. Map updated to show the Ramsgate to Whitstable stretch is now open to the public.

  10. Map updated to show the East Head to Shoreham stretch is now open to the public.

  11. Map updated to show the Otterham Quay to Stoke Marshes section of the Iwade to Grain stretch is now open to the public.

  12. Map updated to show that the Bamburgh to the Scottish Border (including Holy Island) stretch is now open to the public.

  13. Map updated: following an administrative error, the Birkenhead to the Welsh Border stretch has reverted to 'Approved in part but not yet open, establishment works planned or in progress for approved lengths'.

  14. Map updated to show a further section of the Eastbourne to Camber stretch has been approved, and the Silverdale to Cleveleys and Birkenhead to the Welsh Border stretches are now at stage 5.

  15. Map updated to show another section of the Aust to Brean Down stretch is now open to the public.

  16. Page updated to show that parts of the Easington to Filey Brigg and Cleveleys to Pier Head, Liverpool stretches are open to the public.

  17. Map updated to show parts of the Felixstowe Ferry to Bawdsey and Isle of Wight stretches have been approved.

  18. Map updated as approval for Chapter 6 of the Kimmeridge to Highcliffe stretch report has been quashed by High Court Order. This stretch reverts to stage 4/5, partially approved.

  19. Map updated to show the Amble to Bamburgh stretch, the Whitstable to Iwade stretch and part 1 of the Iwade to Grain stretch (Ridham Dock to Kingsferry Bridge) are now open to the public.

  20. Map updated to show that parts of the Silecroft to Silverdale stretch are approved, and the remaining section of the Mablethorpe to Humber Bridge stretch is approved, so this is now at stage 5.
