The hen harrier is one of Englands rarest and most spectacular birds of prey. It breeds on heather moorland in uplands across the UK and in a range of upland and lowland habitats across Europe.
Natural England is working with a range of organisations to conserve hen harriers - see the joint action plan for details. This work contributes to Action 1: Monitoring of populations in England and UK.
