Guidance: Cervical screening: acceptable HPV test systems

This document provides details of tests for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV), that have been approved for use in the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (NHSCSP).

The tests may be used for:

  • primary HPV screening
  • HPV triage of borderline and low-grade abnormalities
  • the test of cure of treatment, according to national protocols

This publication was previously published by Public Health England, which closed on 30 September 2021.
