The impact that the HealthTech industry has on patients, and health systems, is well recognised. However, itseconomic footprint, through the creationof high-quality jobs, and vibrant regional clusters, is less well understood.

In Spring 2023, we commissioned our delivery partner KPMG to identify and systematically map out manufacturing and research and development activity across the UK HealthTech sector.

KPMG carried out an extensive survey and undertook stakeholder interviews to inform their evaluation and subsequent recommendations.

We will use the knowledge established through this report and consider the recommendations to help inform future government policy.
