This protocol sets out how we deal with incomplete inspections where we need to gather additional evidence in order to secure the inspection evidence base. The protocol applies to inspections, visits and monitoring visits.

Updated to set out more clearly that, in certain circumstances, Ofsted may carry out a further visit to a provider, without notice, to gather additional evidence to complete the inspection.
The policy has been updated to give further clarification on the steps that will be taken if we decide that a further visit is necessary to gather additional evidence to complete the inspection.
