Please note, Ofsted has now received the delayed provisional key stage 4 and 16 to 18 performance data from the Department for Education. We will release this data in January 2025.
IDSR update: 12 November 2024
The Department for Education has informed us that there are delays to the publishing of provisional 2023/24 key stage 4 and 16 to 18 performance data.
Key stage 4 provisional subject entries, attainment and progress data and 16 to 18 data for 2024 have been delayed due to quality issues in data submitted to the Department for Education by an awarding organisation. These were identified in the Check Your Performance Measures Data exercise. A new publication date will be announced as soon as possible in line with the requirements of the Code of Practice for Statistics.
Due to these delays the secondary and all-through school IDSRs will not be updated in November with provisional key stage 4 and 16 to 18 data, as per previous years. We plan to update them in January, providing there are no further delays in receiving the data.
IDSR data correction
We have identified and corrected an error relating to a small number of calculations that interpret Attainment 8 measures within the IDSR. For a subset of schools, this affected the arrows and/or the significance for Attainment 8 measures displayed in the Progress and attainment at key stage 4 section. It also sometimes affected the Pupil groups section for Attainment 8 measures . It did not affect the Attainment 8 scores, cohorts or percentiles. This has now been corrected for all IDSRs containing key stage 4 data which now have a release date of 11 November.

There is a new tabular presentation of suspensions and permanent exclusions.
We have re-instated the year group information also in a tabular form.
There is a redeveloped section looking at pupils registered at other provision (including alternative provision) containing placements at unregistered provision and details of full/part time attendance, as well as whether placements are current or ended during the term.
This year, the IDSR section on primary performance measures will not contain any keystage 1 attainment measures nor any key stage 2 progress measures.
Introduction of EBacc attainment measures for English and Maths at grades 4 and 5.
Improved group content that relates to potential complex pupil engagement with education.
We have introduced destinations data for disadvantaged pupils at both key stage 4 and 16 to 18.
