These statistics look at past outcomes and preclude any changes the current government may make to the way we inspect and regulate providers in the future.

These childcare providers and inspections statistics are made up of:

  • main findings
  • summary tables and charts in Excel and ODS format
  • individual provider-level and inspection-level data in ODS format
  • methodology and quality report
  • pre-release access list

Official statistics are produced impartially and free from political influence.

  1. This update rectifies an error in the annual change to the number of providers in the main findings. This referred to the annual change in the number of childminders rather than all providers. There were also rounding errors in figures 1 and 5 and a formula error in Table 20 has been corrected.
