If you use the Rural Payments service for rural payments with the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), you can give someone else permission to access your business.

This could be:

  • a family member
  • somebody who works in your business, such as an employee
  • an agent

The person must already have an account. If they do not, they will need to register with the Rural Payments service.

What the different permissions are

Permissions are split into different types. Permission types include:

  • business details
  • land details
  • entitlements
  • Basic Payment Scheme (BPS)
  • scheme specific applications, including the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) and capital grants
  • scheme specific agreements, including SFI, Countryside Stewardship (CS) and capital grants

There are different permission levels depending on what you want the person to be able to see or do in the Rural Payments service. Permission levels vary depending on the permission type. They include:

  • view
  • amend
  • submit for scheme specific applications only
  • make legal changes for business details only
  • full permissions
  • no access

You can choose different permission levels for each permission type.
