On Monday 24 February we will change the rules for issuing Licence Dispensation Notices (LDNs).

The changes will mean that:

  • you must request the ability to issue LDNs, and can only do so if we say yes (we will not give you this facility automatically as we do now)
  • you must issue LDNs using the business services within our licensing site
  • you can only issue LDNs to employees who held an active SIA licence when they submitted their licence application this will ensure that anyone working on an LDN has undergone a criminal record check within the last 3 years
  • LDNs will be valid for 5 weeks, not the current 10

We will be holding webinars to answer any questions you may have about these changes. The dates are:

  • Wednesday 4 December, 4pm to 4.30pm LDN policy
  • Monday 9 December, 10am to 10.30am LDN policy (repeat of 4 December)
  • Monday 3 February, 11am to 12pm LDN system changes: how to notify us of LDNs through your SIA business account

Register here to attend one of these webinars.
