The information about national curriculum tests at the end of key stage 2 (KS2) is for parents with a child in year 6 at primary school. It provides an overview of the purpose of the mandatory tests, also referred to as SATs, when they are scheduled, and when results will be shared by schools.

It explains what information they will receive about their childs assessments at the end of KS2, including outcomes of the national curriculum tests and teacher assessments, and how the results are used.
The information about optional national curriculum tests at the end of key stage 1 (KS1) is for parents with a child in year 2 at primary school. It provides an overview of the purpose of the optional tests, how they work and how participating schools may use the results. While end of KS1 national curriculum assessments are optional from 2024, schools may choose to use them.
