Surveillance Camera Commissioner
The Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Tony Porter, has launched an easy to use self assessment tool for organisations to show how they are complying with the 12 guiding principles in the surveillance camera code of practice.
The tool will help organisations show what theyre already doing to comply with the code as well as what may need to be done in the future. It has been developed over the past few months in close collaboration with the Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board and National Security Inspectorate as well as other industry specialists. The tool has also been tested thoroughly with CCTV camera operators and managers.

Today is a landmark moment in my tenure as Surveillance Camera Commissioner. The self assessment tool is easy to use and will really help organisations who use CCTV see where they are meeting the 12 guiding principles or where they may need to do a little more.
