Latest data shows unemployment has fallen by more than 20,000 over the past year, although it remains unchanged over the last quarter. Since May 2010, 38,000 more people are in work while the number of unemployed in Wales has fallen by 35,000. Youth unemployment is also falling down by 6,100 over the last year.

The number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance in Wales is also down by 1,100 over the past month the 20th consecutive monthly fall in Wales and by 16,000 over the year.

The latest figures show that the number of people claiming out-of-work benefits in Wales has fallen by 9,500 over the last 3 months and 18,300 over the past year.

Wales continues to attract more visitors both for the day and overnight, compared to the same period last year. Overnight trips have increased along with the amount that they spend. In addition, Wales share of British tourism has continued to increase.

Since 2010, 100,000 new private sector jobs have been created in Wales. The employment outlook is positive across the UK with growth across all the main sectors of the economy. The UK Governments long-term economic plan is geared towards getting people back into work and keep the economy growing.
