Advisory Council On The Misuse Of Drugs
It was announced today that Professor Owen Bowden-Jones had been reappointed by the Home Secretary as Chair of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD).
The ACMDs role is to keep under review the situation with respect to drugs which are being, or appear likely to be, misused and of which the misuse is having, or appears capable of having, harmful effects sufficient to constitute a social problem.
The list of reappointments to the ACMD (between 2021 and 2023) includes:
Chair reappointed to a third term of 3 years, ending on 31 December 2025.

2 members reappointed to a second term of 3 years, ending on 2 August 2026.
