Rosemary Leith
Rosemary advises a number of technology businesses and academic institutions in Europe and North America.
She worked in finance and investment management positions with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), Pallas and Talisman Management. She has wide commercial and academic experience of internet and digital technology management and policy including data privacy, analytics and innovation.
She has been the Chair of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Future of Internet Security. She has been a Non-Executive Director at YouGov PLC since February 1, 2015. Ms. Leith is Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and a Founding Director of the World Wide Web Foundation. She is a member of the Foundation Board of Raspberry Pi, the governing body for Raspberry Pi Trading. She is a Past Director of the Almeida Theatre (2002 -2010). She is a member of the Advisory Boards of Infinite Analytics (Boston and Mumbai), Queens University School of Business (Canada), Wolfson College, Oxford and University of the Arts, London. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Finance and Accounting from Queens University, Canada.
The Board of the National Gallery is appointed by the Prime Minister, and the appointments process follows the OCPA Code of Practice. Trustees are unpaid.
All public appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for defined political activity in the last five years to be made public. Rosemary has declared no such political activity.
Katrin Henkel
Katrin has spent 30 years dealing in Old Master Drawings and was a partner at Colnaghi for 13 years until the Gallery was sold in 2015. She has enriched major museums and private collections worldwide.
Katrin was born and raised in Cologne. She studied Business Administration in Hamburg and attended Sothebys Fine Art courses in London. She worked for Neumeister Fine Art in Munich before starting Katrin Bellinger Kunsthandel there in 1985. The Gallery exhibited regularly in London, New York and Paris participating in major international art fairs. In partnership with Konrad Bernheimer in 2002 she bought P&D. Colnaghi Ltd. in London, the renowned dealer in Old Master paintings and drawings founded in 1760.
In addition to serving on the Board of the Royal Drawing School, she is also a Trustee of Sir John Soanes Museum, and a member of the Visiting Committee of the Department of Drawings and Prints at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the past she has been a Trustee of Into University, served on the executive committee of the Society of London Art Dealers and was a member of the Board of The Fine Art Fund.
