Consultation outcome: Draft policy proposals for exempting defence-related activities from the Space Industry Act 2018

Having considered the views supplied, we have decided to take forward all proposals.

The exemption policy will be legislated for in a statutory instrument, which will come into effect early 2025, subject to Parliamentary timetables and approval.

The outcome contains greater detail on the responses and choices.

Consultation description

We are asking for views regarding some defence-related activities from the Space Industry Act 2018. These activities are completed at Ministry of Defence (MOD) firing sites and conducted by the Armed Forces of UK Allies and their contractors and agents or international treaty organisations.

Armed Forces may include other government defence departments.
