To provide assurance of compliance with the requirements of the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Mandate, obligated parties must appoint independent verifiers to provide assurance on the accuracy of data submitted to the Administrator.

- recognised verifiers and suppliers of relevant transport fuel must follow to undertake assurance of obligated parties data
- individual verifiers can take to be recognised by the Administrator
- voluntary schemes can take to be recognised by the Administrator
Carbon and sustainability data must be independently verified before certificates are awarded. The 2025 RTFO and SAF Mandate third party assurance guidance provides information on:
- the purpose and requirements of verification
- planning and risk assessment
- developing an assurance strategy
- reporting and assurance statements
