Details

Statistics on the number of trips made by road goods vehicles travelling from Great Britain to Europe between October 2021 and September 2022.

In the 12-month period ending 30 September 2022, 3.22 million trips were made by road goods vehicles travelling from Great Britain to Europe, of which:

  • 2.05 million were by powered vehicles
  • 1.17 million were by unaccompanied trailers

The previous announcements of the UK leaving the EU and subsequent transition period, along with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and resulting supply chaindisruption, have caused higher levels of volatility in freight statistics over the past 2 years. Therefore, caution should be taken when comparing these data to previous time periods.
