GIAA continues to make an impact across the globe as our director of Innovation and Development, Dr Iain McGregor demonstrated when he presented at the recent Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) conference in Cyprus. This was just the latest engagement for Iain who along with our head of data analytics, Dr Lauren Petrie and her team is in high demand to share his expert knowledge about using artificial intelligence (AI) in internal audit.
This latest invite came from Dr Aristodemos Yiannakas, president of the board of directors of the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors who knew about our work in GIAA from Sandro Boeri, president of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, UK and Ireland. Sandro had been amazed by Iains presentation at the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA)s conference in London earlier this autumn, where our GIAA information stand was inundated with auditors from all sectors wanting to know more about our AI engines and how they work. Having heard such good things, the organisers of the Cypriot conference organisers invited Iain to attend and share how GIAA is leading the way in the use of AI in internal audit.
The annual IIA Cyprus conference serves as a platform for the Cypriot internal audit profession and other international speakers to discuss the latest developments in internal audit. Other presenters at the event were taken aback by how advanced we are in the application of AI and had many questions about how we had developed our engines.
During his time in Cyprus, Iain was invited to visit the offices of the Cyprus Government Internal Audit Services. He shared the inspiring story of GIAA, explaining our role in government, our internal audit and counter fraud work, and demonstrating our award-winning AI Engines.

Our work has created quite a buzz and we have been asked to give more demonstrations of our technology in 2025 so watch this
