Statutory guidance: Trade Marks Act 1994

The Trade Marks Act 1994, as amended, is the current law that covers:

  • the registration of trade marks and
  • the protection of registered trade marks in the UK

This is an unofficial consolidation of the Trade Marks Act 1994. The latest amendments to the Act took place on 20 August 2024 and were made by:

  • The Intellectual Property (Exhaustion of Rights) (Amendment) Regulations 2023
