The cold weather plan for England remains unchanged for winter 2022 to 2023.
The plan gives advice to help prevent the major avoidable effects on health during periods of cold weather in England.
Documents supporting the cold weather plan were published by Public Health England (PHE) and can still be accessed. These include:
- Cold weather plan for England: making the case why long-term strategic planning for cold weather is essential to health and wellbeing
- Cold weather plan: easy-read guide
The cold weather plan is accompanied by the Cold Weather Alert Service, commissioned by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and operated by the Met Office.
The content of these alerts is aimed at health and social care organisations, and other professionals that work with individuals or communities who may be affected by cold weather.
