Round 1 of the Laying Hen Housing for Health and Welfare grant is available for housing for laying hens and pullets.
You can apply to either:
- replace or upgradeexisting laying hen or pullet housing (a comprehensive project)
- add a veranda onto existing laying hen or pullet housing (a veranda-only project) to provide animal health and welfare benefits
Grant value: between 5,000 and 500,000.
Who can apply
You can apply for a grant if youre:
- an existing commercial egg producer or pullet rearer
- a registered keeper of 1000 or more birds, which must be on site when you fill in the online checker or have been within the last 6 months
When you can apply
You can now use the online checker to make an initial online application. The online checker will close at 11:59pm on 18 September 2024.
How to apply
Youll need to follow a 2-stage application process. You are only permitted to apply for one project type: comprehensive or veranda-only.
You can make applications for multiple projects up to the maximum grant amount.
If you want to apply for funding for more than one building, you will need to make a separate application for each.
