If you need help with your student finance, you can find help from your award authority:

Read the guidance on repaying your student loan before you contact SLC Repayment.

If you want someone else to deal with your account on your behalf, you need to give SLC your consent by phone or post.

Online

Sign in to your student loan repayment account to:

  • check your balance
  • make a one-off repayment
  • set up and amend Direct Debits
  • check which repayment plan youre on
  • check and update your bank details
  • print proof of your repayment plan if you need to show it to your employer
  • tell the Student Loans Company (SLC) if youve changed your contact details
  • repay in your local currency if youre living overseas this includes recurring card payments

Update your employment details

You need to update your details if you:

  • leave the UK for more than 3 months
  • get a letter or email from the SLC asking you to update your employment details

Refund enquiries

If your annual income was below the threshold

If youre looking for a refund because youve made a repayment and your income was below the annual repayment threshold, you should fill in the Refund Request Form and send it back to us.

Make sure all sections of the form have been completed before you send it to us, otherwise it could result in a delay or the refund not being processed!

For all other types of refund

If youre looking for a refund because:

  • youve paid more than the total amount you owe
  • you started making repayments before you needed to
  • youve repaid more than you need to because your employer had you on the wrong repayment plan
