This notice includes details of the reason for the delay and the likely effect on future statistical releases.
The delay is the result of data quality concerns that have been identified, specifically related to landings. MMO and UK Fisheries Authorities are investigating further and expect this will require revisions to affected statistics, including related annual and monthly Official Statistics publications over several years.
A provisional revised release date for these statistics is set for November 2024, which will be confirmed in our statistics release calendar.
The MMO, on behalf of all UK Fisheries Authorities, will also publish revised data as unscheduled corrections. In this publication we will provide further details on the issues and the changes that have been made to address them, as well as quantifying the associated impact on the published figures.
It is likely that the main impacts will be tables including (live and landed) landing weight, with potential consequential updates to effort and trade statistics. The full impacts will be set out alongside the corrections to data tables.
