The delay is the result of data quality concerns that have been identified, specifically related to landings. The MMO, on behalf of all UK Fisheries Authorities, has published a revised dataset alongside an unscheduled corrections report on the 8th October 2024. This publication provides further details on the issues and the changes that have been made to address them, as well as quantifying the associated impact on the published figures.

A revised release date for UK Sea fisheries statistics 2023 is set for 5th December 2024, which will be confirmed in ourstatistics release calendar.
